1. Definitions
- "Alpha Direct" means Alpha Direct Insurance Co. (Pty) Ltd, a licensed short-term insurer regulated by NBFIRA.
- "Bizsure" means the online SME insurance platform operated by Alpha Direct, accessible at this website.
- "You" / "Policyholder" means the person or business entity using Bizsure to obtain a quote or purchase a policy.
- "Policy" means the insurance contract issued by Alpha Direct upon successful payment.
- "Quote" means an indicative premium calculated based on information you provide, which is not binding until a policy is issued.
- "Cover" means an individual section of insurance included in your policy (e.g., Building, Stock, Public Liability).
- "Sum Insured" means the maximum amount payable under a given cover.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing Bizsure, obtaining a quote, or purchasing a policy, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use this platform.
These terms are governed by the laws of Botswana. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Botswana.
3. Eligibility
Bizsure is available to:
- Individuals aged 18 years or older who are resident in Botswana.
- Businesses registered or operating in Botswana.
- Businesses whose insured premises are located within Botswana.
We reserve the right to decline any application at our sole discretion.
4. The Quote Process
A quote generated on Bizsure is an indication of the premium payable and is subject to the following:
- Quotes are based on the information you provide. Any material misrepresentation or non-disclosure may result in a quote being withdrawn, a policy being voided, or a claim being rejected.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of generation.
- A quote is not a binding insurance contract. Cover only commences upon successful payment and issuance of a policy number and certificate of insurance.
- Premiums are calculated using our rating engine and may differ from estimates if your details change during the quote process.
5. Policy Issuance and Commencement
Subject to successful payment:
- A policy number will be generated and a Certificate of Insurance will be sent to your registered email address.
- Cover commences at 00:01 on the day after the date of payment, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- The policy is subject to the full terms, conditions, exclusions, and limits contained in the applicable policy wording, which is available on request from info@alphadirect.co.bw.
- This Certificate of Insurance should be read together with the full policy wording. In the event of any conflict, the policy wording shall prevail.
6. Your Duty of Disclosure
You are required to disclose all material facts that could influence our decision to insure you or the terms on which we offer cover. A material fact is any information that a reasonable insurer would consider relevant. This duty applies at inception, renewal, and any variation of your policy.
Failure to disclose material information may result in your policy being cancelled, a claim being rejected, or both.
7. Premium Payment
- Premiums are quoted and payable in Botswana Pula (BWP).
- Cover is not in force until the premium has been received and confirmed by Alpha Direct.
- Annual premiums are payable in full at inception. Monthly premiums are due on the agreed billing date each month.
- Non-payment of any instalment may result in the suspension or cancellation of your policy after due notice.
- Payments are processed by third-party payment providers (DPO Pay / RealPay). Alpha Direct does not store your card or banking details.
8. Cooling-Off Period & Cancellation
Cooling-off: You may cancel your policy within 30 days of commencement and receive a full refund of premium paid, provided no claims have been made or are pending during that period.
Cancellation after cooling-off: You may cancel your policy at any time by contacting us. If cancelled mid-term, a pro-rata refund of the unused premium (less any short-rate penalty) will be issued, provided no claims have been made.
Cancellation by Alpha Direct: We reserve the right to cancel your policy with 30 days' written notice for any reason permitted by NBFIRA regulations.
9. Claims
Claims must be reported to Alpha Direct as soon as practicable after the insured event occurs. Late notification may prejudice your claim. Claims procedures are set out in your policy wording. You may also contact us on 0800 601 029 or via the claims portal at alphadirect.co.bw.
10. Limitation of Liability
Alpha Direct's liability to you is limited to the sums insured and terms specified in your policy. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss arising from the use of Bizsure or the failure to obtain appropriate cover. We do not warrant that the platform will be available without interruption or error.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on Bizsure, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of Alpha Direct and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce or use any content without our prior written consent.
12. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The version in force at the time of policy issuance will apply to your policy for its duration. Continued use of Bizsure after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
